Ulcus "Cherish The Obscure" CD (Shiver Rec.)
After a couple of self financed CDs, this Norwegian band, formely known as Ulcus Molle, has found a record label. Their earlier releases was very much in the Power and Heavy Metal area. But Ulcus has now finally found out that melodic Death Metal the Swedish way is the way forward. In many ways; Ulcus continue down the track where Fester once roamed. You can also add a strong dosage of Dimmu Borgir to
the Ulcus brew. Ulcus is not a bad band and this is not a bad album. But this album does not have any outstanding tracks. Ulcus cannot claim that they do original music either. It is very much a standard album with very few positive surprises. It is good handcraft and nothing more than that.

Unmoored "Kingdoms Of Greed" CD (Pulverized Records)
This album include both ultra-brutal Swedish Death Metal and ballads in the Type O Negative mould. A varied diet, in other words. This album is too varied. It is like this Swedish band has released two albums on one CD. Which they supposedly has not done, according to the press sheet. The music is OK, without impressing. It is standard, melodic Swedish Death/Black Metal and that's it. I am not impressed.

Wolfram "Liars In A Second Skin" CD (RKK)
Oh dear….. I slaughtered Wolfram's debut album "Misantrope" in a very comprehensive way in the old edition of this magazine. I am afraid that we are heading in that direction again….
Wolfram do Power Metal in the German vein. That means Gamma Ray, Helloween and Blind Guardian. If these three bands are your cup of tea; you should get a copy of this album. In my case, I cannot stand those three bands. I cannot stand German Power Metal. I live in a remote village in a remote valley in the remote Scotland, just to avoid German Power Metal. I have also made sure that my neighbours do not listen to German Power Metal. I am therefore not the right person to judge Wolfram. Noone else in this magazine is qualified either. I cannot stand this album and that is all I can say. Sorry !!
