Antaios/Stigmatic Chorus CD (More Hate Prod.)
A split CD with a Norwegian and a Russian band is on the menu here. Antaios do traditional grim Black Metal in the Norwegian tradition. Quite middle-of-the-road Black Metal, although a bit more brutal than normal from a Norwegian band. The quality is quite good throughout the four tracks. Keep an eye on this band.
I guess Stigmatic Chorus has been produced and promoted by Lazar from Rossomahaar. It might even be a Rossomahaar side project. The music is very similar to Rossomahaar. Grim and brutal Black Metal with a lot of keyboards. The quality is good. Keep an eye on this band too.
All in all; this is a good split CD.

Der Gerwelt/Nargathrond "Split CD " CD (More Hate Prod.)
This is the second Black Metal split CD from More Hate Production in the last six months. This time, this album does include two Russian bands. Der Gerwelt's music is in the Norwegian vein (Burzum, Immortal). This is a good band and they have a lot of interesting details in their grim Black Metal. The problem with this split CD is that the bands are too similar to each other. Nargathrond is more gothic and melodic. Piano and synth intros is mixed with slabs of symphonic Black Metal. It is very trendy Black Metal in my view.
I prefer Der Gerwelt, but Nargathrond is also a hell of a band. These two bands should go far in the Black Metal scene. But then there is the small matter of nationality and the narrow minded Black Metal scene…..
