Lord Trondheim has been at it again and braved the cold in Norway. He has got hold of Hellstorm. This is a young Norwegian band within the black/thrash scene and they do not take themselves to serious. Or is it the local beer ?? Here's what the band had to say for themselves (say is a relative word you know...)



1. Greetings Hellstorm...Could you start this insanity by telling the story behind the band?

The band was started in '96 by Vargon and Amok. Then we recruited the bassist Elden (ex-Einherjer), and recorded a 7" EP for Oskorei Productions titled "Murder" which was released in spring of '97. After that we got picked up by Head Not Found, where we will do our next 3 albums...The first album will be out in February.

2. What do you think of the 7" you released, compared to the full-length bound to be out during February this year?

Well, the sound on the 7" was a little "shitty", because it was recorded on a porta-studio in our rehearsalroom, but the songs are good though. Some could have been done better. On the upcoming album we recorded 2 songs from the single, and they turned out to be much better, the sound is better and it's much more professional done.

3. What reactions have you had on the new album so far?

The reactions have been quite good. Ten dogs have died ( we got a new bird) and there are women in the air. We are very satisfied.

4. What kind of relationship do you have to Head Not Found?

HNF likes us, they have no choice since Metalion is Knattemars father. (We believe so!)

5. Your new album, does it only come in one of those plastic cases again?

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have arranged a deal with Apocalyptic Empire, who is gonna release the LP under license from HNF. The vinyl is in fact ready to be sent for printing right at this moment. It will be with a different cover than the CD and in a limited edition.

6. I'm hearing rumors about some tourplans from you guys...Is this true?

The Norway tour KICKS of in Trondheim late February, and we will have 3-4 gigs in Norway together with The Embraced. We are heading for Europe ( and TNT ? ) hopefully this summer. And we will maybe head for Denmark with Aura Noir after that. The Iraq tour have to wait till after the war, but Saddam is a great fan, so we can't wait too long (hey, what is wrong with my cat ??? -ed.)

7. What are Hellstorm doing except from the band?

OK here comes the complete list:

Koma works as an architect constructing new flower shops around the globe.

Amok is a carpenter and a call-boy at night.

Knattemar (new member) has just started to use contactlences, so he is out there discovering the planet and the women who crawls over it.

Vargon runs his own gastation and besides music he's just crusin'

Ihizag works in a kindergarden, and he's soon to be married.


8. The interviewer here gets lost of what he really asked for (yes, there are some serious questions to be asked about the beer in Norway -ed), so he just got an answer to a question no one remembers any longer:
