Hadez "Even If You Died A Thousand Death" CD (System Beyond)
Some mythical bands should remain just that and never release anything. Hadez is one of these bands. I have been waiting for 7-8 years for Hadez (Chile) debut album. When I received the promo version of this album, I have to say that this long wait has been wasted. Behind this Hadez hype, is there some Death/Black Metal in the South American vein. The music is chaotic with some "spooky" keyboards thrown in now and then. The sound is primitive and not helped by the very bad vocals. The quality on Hadez material is not very impressive. There are some good ideas well hidden in some of the tracks, but they are far between. This album would have impressed me 15 years ago, but not today. The world has moved on and left Hadez behind in nowhere land. Not good !!!!

Hin Onde "Songs Of Battle" CD (Aftermath Music)
This band from Finland tries to be everything at all time. Their brand of Black Metal are supposed to be rooted in Folk Music, but their music are equally as rooted in German Heavy Metal as Folk Music. One of the first tracks are also very Art Rock (Master Of Reality) inspired. To a certain extent, Hin Onde can be compared to the masters of this genre; Forefather. But where Forefather is just brilliant, I have my doubts about Hin Onde. The sound is not great and I am a determined hater of German Heavy Metal. Which there is too much off on this album. But the tracks where Hin Onde's brand of Black Metal is in the Folk Music vein is great tracks. This band has a lot of talent and a debut album will never be more than just that. I guess we will hear a lot more of this band in the years to come. Check out this album yourself and make up your own mind. I am a bit undecided.
